WARRANTY & TERMS
Last updated August 2026
Newood Millwork Inc ("Newood Millwork," "we," "us") warrants to the original client that the cabinetry and millwork we build and install will be free from defects in workmanship for as long as the original client owns the property where it was installed. This warranty covers issues that result from how a piece was built or installed — things like a door that wasn't hung square, a joint that separates, or a drawer that was assembled incorrectly.
If we determine that a defect is covered under this warranty, we will repair or replace the affected piece at no cost for labour or materials. Repair or replacement is made at our discretion, using materials and finishes as close to the original as reasonably available.
Moving hardware — hinges, drawer slides, and similar mechanical components — is covered for 5 years from the date of installation, consistent with standard manufacturer coverage on these parts. After that period, hardware can typically be repaired or replaced at a reasonable cost.
The cabinet boxes, doors, drawers, and panel materials we build with are covered under our lifetime workmanship warranty above. If a panel delaminates, warps, chips, or otherwise fails due to a manufacturing or installation defect, we will repair or replace it at no cost to you, for as long as you own the property — this is true for the great majority of what goes into your project. Moving hardware is the one exception, covered separately above since it's mechanical and wears with use.
We build using composite wood panels — particleboard, MDF, and plywood — sourced primarily from Uniboard, Tafisa Canada, EGGER, and Panolam Industries, established North American panel manufacturers. All are certified to FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council) standards for responsible forestry, and their panels meet TSCA Title VI / CARB Phase 2 formaldehyde emission standards, the current North American regulatory requirement for composite wood products. If you have questions about the specific materials used on your project, ask us before your build begins — we're happy to walk through what's going into your space.
If you believe something we built needs attention under this warranty, contact us with your name, the original installation address, and a description or photo of the issue. We'll arrange a time to take a look and let you know next steps.
This warranty applies to work completed by Newood Millwork Inc and does not cover products, materials, or installation performed by third parties. This warranty is not transferable to a subsequent owner of the property unless agreed to in writing. Newood Millwork reserves the right to update these terms; the version posted on this page at the time of your project applies to your warranty.
